Jonathan Saunders lifts the fortunes of Escada

After going in bankrupt in 2009 and have been bought by Megha Mittal, the German brand Escada has chosen the name of who should revive the line Escada Sport: Jonathan Saunders. The Scottish designer will present a 20-piece capsule collection in London and Paris next June 2011.

Jonathan Saunders is one of the best new talent in fashion, he has worked as Creative Director for Pollini, which has given a modern and fresh touch, and for his own clothing line under his belt. Saunders is acclaimed by critics because he proposes a casual femininity, very chic and dégagé. His colours are always very bright, and is very nice his study of the forms.

In 2010 Saunders won the title of Scottish Designer of the Year and now he is, with Nicholas Kirkwood, Matthew Williamson and Christopher Kane, the turning point for the British and international fashion.

Escada plays a good trump card!

Tom & Terry: gay kiss for Vogue Paris

The set of this kiss was the same of the shooting "Wild West" for the December issue of Vogue Paris.
The French edition of Vogue has always played with sexual ambiguity and sex in general, especially since Carine Roitfeld is the editor-in-chief. Terry Richardson and Tom Ford have collaborated often with Vogue Paris, increasing the erotic charge of the magazine.

For this shooting, Tom Ford has been involved in all: photos, styling and contents and also the photographer Terry Richardson was on the set. Richardson gave a Brokeback Mountain kiss to Texan designer and took the photo.

Some people consider this picture the best in the career of Richardson. Exaggeration!
Richardson doesn't always produce images of high-class, but this is not the best picture although it's very ironic.

Happy Birthday Monsieur Godard!

Prada: more and more private

Prada Private

Last year, Ms Prada had delighted us with a T-shirts collection, The Pradalphabet, made in collaboration with the design studio M/M in Paris. Twenty-six letters of the alphabet, very graphic, which could be printed on demand on a Prada T-shirt. So that a simple T becomes very personal.

Today, Miuccia Prada is launching another limited edition, Prada Private: new customisable hi-tech sunglasses. Onto the removable arms, you can insert two plugs that can be letters, numbers or other symbols.

Prada Private is on sale from December 2 exclusively at Sunglass Hut and Prada stores with a price tag of 365€ each pair. Must have? Absolutely not, because the kind of glasses is not the best that Prada has made. As hyper-personal collection, T-shirts were undoubtedly more beautiful.

A limited edition charity AIDS T-shirt, for the first time in Japanese, was launched by Maison Martin Margiela on December 1st for the World AIDS day.

"THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS THAN TO WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT'S A GOOD START"
Further to seasonal English version, the Maison has decided to have a yearly edition every time in a different language for the World AIDS day, this year MMM chose the Japanese. Created in Paris, sold around the world, worn touching the heart, this charity AIDS T-shirt will be exclusively available in all Maison Martin Margiela stores and in the e-boutique.

Karl Lagerfeld & Pirelli

Institutional calendar Pirelli 2011 was presented yesterday evening in Moscow. In recent months, this calendar has been the subject of controversy because it contains, for the first time in its history, male nudes. The photographer is one of the most important fashion icons: Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld. Despite the controversy, the calendar was well received by the glossy public in the Russian capital.

Pictures taken by Karl Lagerfeld are very sophisticated; the designer-photographer deliberately chose not to use a trivial and exotics backgrounds (as Richardson did for the 2010 edition). His pictures are in a strict black and white, inspired by the mythological Greek-Roman gods, without special background and with a perfect light. Everything was made in his Paris studio in less than 3 days.

In this calendar, women goes almost to the background, they are overshadowed by the beautiful physical presence of Baptiste Giabiconi (model favored by Karl) and Jake Davis: one depicting Apollo, portrayed in all his glory with only a silver shell to cover it all; and the other is Bacco.
Gorgeous Erin Wasson and the 50-year-old Julianne Moore: one in the role of Ajax and the other plays Juno.

The erotic charge of these pictures is amazing, nothing to do, as Karl Lagerfeld said, with trivial eroticism "made of lace and garters".
