"Visionaire 60" by Riccardo Tisci

Riccardo Tisci has collaborated with Visionaire on his 60th issue. The topic is Tisci's favorite: the religion. Tisci curated the entire issue, all the works are commissioned projects except two photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe. The fashion designer's one stipulation to his collaborators: no Givenchy credits. In this leather limited-edition issue there are Karl Lagerfeld and Paolo Canevari's contributions.

GIVENCHY F/W 2011-2012

Riccardo Tisci's latest menswear collection provided a clue in to what we could expect from the womenswear. For men, it was rottweiler and tartan; for women he have panthers, orchids and the saucy appearance of Bettie Page. The outfit formula is shirt, sweatshirt and bomber over a slim pencil skirt, transparencies and 80s Versace silk prints.

GIVENCHY Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2011

Riccardo Tisci chose Japan as a source of inspiration for Givenchy Haute Couture. The fashion designer has mixed the beauty of the dancer Kazuo-Ohno, and exaltation of Mazinger. Tisci chose the crane (very elegant and feminine bird) as the symbol of Asian culture, and he designed a gorgeous and techno-romantic collection of 10 dresses. Accessories are exaggerated: manga-headpieces by Philip Treacy and metallic leather sandals with platform and high heels.

The clothes are fragile and delicate on the front, but when viewed from behind they seem technology and almost robotic, thanks to fluo touch.

Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Haute Couture Fall/Winter  2010-11

Haute Couture in Paris will start Monday, January 24. Alexis Mabille will be the name that will open four days of fashion shows, followed by Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani Privé, Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino and many others. The last day will be January 27 and the Haute Joaillerie's collections will be presented.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS SS 2011 Ad Campaign Preview: Gender Games

Marc Jacobs has chosen the young model Andrej Pejic as the new face of the campaign for his second line. He is 19 and so androgynous that he may be mistaken for a woman. Photos were shot by Juergen Teller, and rumors say that the location for the shooting was Marrakech.

This advertising campaign is not the first to play with gender. Riccardo Tisci has picked the transsexual model Lea T. for the fall/winter 2010-2011 Givenchy's campaign. She perfectly played the male/female dualism of Tisci's creations.

OBSEDIA, the new obsession by Givenchy

A new line of bags called Obsedia will launch, in February, by Riccardo Tisci. The fashion designer, creative director of Givenchy since 2005, continues to assert his gothic taste adding to the classic black leather bag a clasp with a plexiglass cross and a metal ring.

Religious symbols like the cross are often used by Tisci to create his universe, so wonderfully dark and mysterious.

S/S 2011 Ad Campaign Preview

Daphne Groeneveld, it girl of the moment, is the face of the Givenchy Spring Summer 2011 campaign. She is photographed with an albino model, Stephen Thompson, by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. Iris Strubegger and Mariacarla Boscono (muse of Riccardo Tisci) are the other faces of Givenchy SS 2011.

Actress January Jones strips down for Versace SS 2011 ad campaign. The image, photographed by Mario Testino, features the 32-year-old star of Hollywood wearing nothing except for a Versace bag and a pair of high heels.

The latest Prada Campaign for S/S 2011 is photographed by Steven Meisel and features Mariacarla Boscono, Arizona Muse, Kinga Razjak, Zuzanna Bijoch and Tati Cotliar. Many colours, psychedelic stripes and sombreros for a collection far away from traditional norms of Prada.
