Balmain Goodbye

It's now official: Christophe Decarnin leaves Balmain. The French designer, who became the creative director at the fashion house in 2007 masterminded its success with a mix of rock-chic beloved by French media, particularly by Vogue's ex editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld; has decided to leave the fashion world. The parting of the ways between Balmain and Decarnin was expected: the designer was not at the f/w 2011-2012 fashion show as the result of a serious episode of depression. It seems that a designer from the in-house team will take his place, while Melanie Ward's styling has been reconfirmed.

Carine Roitfeld collaborates with Barneys

The rumors about the Roitfeld's future have been buzzing since she decided to leave Vogue Paris; someone wanted her next to Tom Ford, or as creative director for Yves Saint Laurent or to replace John Galliano at Christian Dior. Instead, the next role of Carine Roitfeld will be that of guest editor and stylist for Barneys New York, one of the most important US department store.

Carine Roitfeld shifts to retail world and will style the fall/winter 2011-2012 ad campaign shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti.

Giovanna Battaglia to W?

Giovanna Battaglia, freelance stylist who has worked for magazine like L'Uomo Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia and Vogue Gioiello, has decided to move in New York to be closer to her boyfriend Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, son of the Vogue Paris' former editor-in-chief; but love is not the only reason of her move. A rep of W magazine claimed that Battaglia has secured a place at W but whether she'll join the magazine on a full time basis or will simply freelance is still unclear.

The curse of Paris Fashion Week

This Paris Fashion Week started bad, with the shocking video of Galliano and his dismissal at Dior, and it continues to get worse.
John Galliano's show, scheduled Sunday, March 6, has been cancelled; he will hold a small presentation to the press and buyers.
Yesterday, Christophe Decarnin, creative director of Balmain, was not present to take his bow at the end of the show. Why? The fashion designer was absent under doctor's orders, after having recently been released from the hospital, where he led his nervous breakdown. A Balmain spokesman said that Decarnin was involved in the design, but he worked with a new stylist, Melanie Ward, who replaced Emmanuelle Alt, who is focusing full-time on Vogue Paris
Someone stop this curse!

Carine Roitfeld: the new Editor of French Vanity Fair???

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, the Chairman of Condé Nast France, Xavier Romatet, said that a special team is working hard to launch in 2012 the French edition of Vanity Fair.

When asked who is going to be the editor, Romatet replied only with a grin, but the rumors point to Carine Roitfeld, former editor of Vogue Paris. Is it true? We will see!
The certain thing is that Madame Roitfeld is a talent, she's brilliant and provocative at the same time and could generate interest in a traditional magazine, which, as times of crisis in publishing, no one suffered from the lack.

EMMANUELLE ALT: NEW "REDACTRICE EN CHEF" OF VOGUE PARIS

The news was announced a few hours ago by President of Condé Nast France, Xavier Romatet, on http://www.vogue.fr/.
It's official: Emmanuelle Alt is the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and she will begin February 1.

Already stylist and fashion director of the magazine for 10 years. She has spent her entire career in the fashion world, working for Elle and other fashion magazines; she arrived in Vogue Paris in 2000.

As the same Romatet said, Emmanuelle Alt has all the requirements and all the qualities to ensure a certain continuity to the magazine. Her decades of experience in Vogue Paris will live at the magazine moments of majesty similar to those experienced with the former editor, Carine Roitfeld. Emmanuelle will work closely with the "redacteur en chef adjoint" Olivier Lalanne.

The appointment was almost predictable and blows away the rumors that gave Tom Ford at the helm of Vogue.

Tom Ford: Spring/Summer 2011

After having been the creative director of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, after a long list of perfumes, cosmetics, sunglasses; after provocative advertising campaigns, a deluxe line of menswear and the amazing director of the movie A single man; after he has been for 6 years away from women's fashion, Tom Ford returns with a glossy and luxurious women's collection, the first to have his name.

The entire collection was presented last September at the last edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week of New York, with a top-secret fashion show involving journalists, the most influential fashion editors and photographer Terry Richardson.

Is finally available online the video of the spring/summer 2011; finally everyone will know what it is. The collection is recently appeared only in Vogue America and Vogue Paris the December 2010/ January 2011 issue, that the same Mr. Ford has directed...some people even rumored that Ford could take the place of Carine Roitfeld in the offices of rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré.

The Devil Wears Anna

The editorial "The devil wears Anna" is photographed by Brett Llyod and styled by Ana Murillas; it appears in the latest issue of CANDY: the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestitism, transsexuality, cross dressing and androgyny in all its manifestation.

Luis Venegas and Andres Borque have fallen into the shoes of Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington, the first Editor in Chief and the other Creative Director of Vogue.

On the cover of the previous issue of CANDY magazine was an unrecognizable James Franco photographed by Terry Richardson...so gorgeous!
