Savage Beauty Preview

Alexander McQueen's creations will be presented at the Constume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, from May 4 to July 31. An exhibition's preview was presented yesterday at the London Ritz, the location much loved by the designer, where he set his first fashion show. Patronesses of this event that closed London Fashion Week were Samatha Cameron, British first lady, and the Chief Editor of Vogue Usa, Anna Wintour.
The exhibit expresses the creative output of the designer, who died prematurely in 2010: from the nihilistic mood of his debut in 1994 up until his Angels & Demons last collection, presented posthumously.

 

The Devil Wears Anna

The editorial "The devil wears Anna" is photographed by Brett Llyod and styled by Ana Murillas; it appears in the latest issue of CANDY: the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestitism, transsexuality, cross dressing and androgyny in all its manifestation.

Luis Venegas and Andres Borque have fallen into the shoes of Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington, the first Editor in Chief and the other Creative Director of Vogue.

On the cover of the previous issue of CANDY magazine was an unrecognizable James Franco photographed by Terry Richardson...so gorgeous!

Item Idem scala Mount Blushmore

Dopo aver toccato Parigi, Berlino e Losanna, l'esibizione Dysfashional, una mostra d'arte che mette in discussione i confini tra moda, arte contemporanea e società, è attualmente in mostra al Garage, uno dei più importanti spazi di arte contemporanea di Mosca.

L'artista Item Idem, conosciuto come Cyril Duval, nato a Parigi e residente a New York esibisce il suo lavoro Mont Blushmore: un'incisione di cristallo che fa il verso al Monte Rushmore, con le teste di Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, Karl Lagerfeld e John Galliano. Perfetto mix tra kitscheria turistica e un mausoleo commemorativo.

Cyril Duval che ha lavorato nella moda insieme a Comme des Garçons, esamina il culto della personalità, diventata negli anni molto più importante del lavoro stesso, e vede nei media i maggiori responsabili di tutto questo. Le 4 teste sono le figure più significative nel mondo della moda, chi per un verso chi per l'altro, tutti e 4 sono riusciti a costruirsi un vero e proprio personaggio, diventando degli idoli da osannare...tanto da meritare un mausoleo commemorativo.

Chissà se, prossimamente, al posto di Washington, Jefferson, T. Roosevelt e Lincoln non troviamo proprio questi 4 signori della Moda!
