Show must go on even without John Galliano, and so was. Yesterday, Galliano was not at the Rodin Museum for the Christian Dior's fashion show. "The King is gone": this was the phrase written on a sign held up by a fan out of the show. For the first time, after 15 years of creative direction chez Dior, we didn't see the chameleon-Galliano; the "petites mains", or little hands (the atelier specialists) received the standing ovation.
Tears for Galliano's absence, very difficult to tolerate: Fashion has lost one of the most brilliant and talented designer. Sidney Toledano, President and CEO of Christian Dior, has opened the show speaking of the honor of French fashion house, never speak of Galliano. He made it clear how deeply painful to see the name of Dior associated with racist words uttered by the British designer.
Toledado didn't mention the designer, but the collection reminded Galliano in every outfits: capes, thigh boots, high heels and fur with tiered skirts, ruches, ribbons and other pretty elements; for the evening dresses taken from the boudoir with transparencies.

Per la prima volta, dopo 15 anni di direzione creativa chez Dior, John Galliano non ha fatto la sua apparizione in passerella, esibendo il suo look stravagante e frutto di una sua innata predisposizione al trasformismo; gli applausi sono andati tutti alle sarte, alle modelliste e alle ricamatrici della Maison.
C'era un'aria molto cupa e triste, la Moda ha perso uno dei personaggi più brillanti e geniali, e la cosa è difficilissima da tollerare. Ad aprire la sfilata arriva Sidney Toledano, Presidente e Amministratore Delegato della Christian Dior, che ha voluto parlare dell'onore della maison francese e, senza mai parlare di Galliano, ha tenuto a precisare quanto sia profondamente doloroso vedere associato il nome di Dior alle razziste e antisemite affermazioni uscite dalla bocca dello stilista.
Toledado non ha citato lo stilista, ma la collezione ricordava Galliano ad ogni outfit: cappe, cuissardes, tacchi alti e pellicce con gonne a balze, ruches, fiocchi e altri elementi leziosi; e per la sera abiti presi dal boudoir con trasparenze annesse.
