Franca Sozzani and the diversity

The Washington Post has dedicated yesterday a long interview to Franca Sozzani, editor in Chief of Vogue Italy, celebrating her creed: DIVERSITY.
She has grown the idea of giving more space and support to the categories "different" from the ones that usually run the catwalks.

She started with the July 2008 special issue of Vogue, the "Black issue", where all editorials and shootings were devoted to black beauty. Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez and Liya Kebede were on the cover.
"I decided to do an issue only with black girls. People say: 'It's a ghetto'. But we do thousand of issues with Russian girls and it's not a ghetto."
But not just Vogue magazine, but also Vogue.it website have welcomed the section Black, focused on the models, but also on culture, fashion and arts coming from the black continent; the section Curvy, apology of the curved shapes.
Franca Sozzani has made a brave choice, she chose to deal with racism, discrimination and integration through fashion.
