From today to January, the 79th edition of the historic event of men's fashion Pitti Immagine Uomo and the 7th edition of Pitti W_Woman Precollcetion, dedicated to women's pre-collection, will be staged at Fortezza da Basso and at the former Dogana of Via Valfonda in Florence.
These are the most anticipated events:
- Tuesday, January 11: Alberta Ferretti officially opens Pitti in the picturesque location of the former church of Santo Stefano al Ponte. She will present 30 outfits created especially for the occasion, worn by great names as Eva Riccobono, Matilde Borromeo, Darya Spirovadova, Marisa Berenson and many others. The soundtrack will be a live performance by Elisa.
- Wednesday, January 12: It's Trussardi's day. The fashion house will celebrate its centenary at the Stazione Leopolda with a show of clothes originated from the Milan Vukmirovic's creativity, creative director of Trussardi. In addition the brand will be celebrated by the exhibition entitled "8 1/2": a collective curated by Massimiliano Gioni that shows work of Cattelan, Almond, Althamer, Bock, Creed, McCarthy, Sehgal and Piva, stars in the exhibitions in Milan, since 2003, at Fondazione Nicola Trussardi.
- Thursday, January 13: He is the special guest of Pitti W. It's the turn of young British fashion designer Gareth Pugh, he's famous for his style on the boundary between the dark and the gothic. The designer will present in the location of the Orsanmichele's church a short movie with his winter collection.
Fabio Quaranta and Andrea Incontri return to Pitti, where in 2010 they won the second edition of Who is on next. Quaranta and Incontri will present their men's collection on 12 and 13 January.

A partire da oggi fino al 14 gennaio saranno in scena, alla Fortezza da Basso e all'ex Dogana di Via Valfonda di Firenze, la 79° edizione della storica kermesse di moda maschile Pitti Immagine Uomo e Pitti W_Woman Precollection, l'evento dedicato alle precollezioni femminili giunto alla 7° edizione.
Questi sono gli eventi più attesi delle due manifestazioni:
- martedì 11 gennaio: Alberta Ferretti apre ufficialmente la kermesse nella suggestiva location della chiesa sconsacrata di Santo Stefano al Ponte. La stilista presenterà ben 30 abiti creati apposta per l'occasione indossati da nomi come Eva Riccobono, Matilde Borromeo, Darya Spirovadova, Marisa Berenson e molte altre. La colonna sonora della sfilata sarà una performance live di Elisa.
- mercoledì 12 gennaio: sarà il giorno di Trussardi che festeggia il proprio centenario alla Stazione Leopolda, con una sfilata di abiti nati dalla creatività di Milan Vukmirovic, direttore creativo della maison. Inoltre la griffe verrà celebrata dalla mostra dal titolo "8 1/2": una collettiva curata da Massimiliano Gioni, che riunisce le opere di 13 artisti internazionali come Cattelan, Almond, Althamer, Bock, Creed, McCarthy, Sehgal e Piva, protagonisti delle mostre organizzate a Milano, dal 2003 a oggi, dalla Fondazione Nicola Trussardi.
- giovedì 13 gennaio: è l'ospite d'onore di Pitti W. E' la volta del giovane e lanciatissimo fashion designer britannico Gareth Pugh, famoso per il suo stile al limite tra il gotico e il dark. Lo stilista presenterà in anteprima, nella location della chiesa dell'Orsanmichele, un film con la sua collezione invernale.
Fabio Quaranta e Andrea Incontri ritorneranno a Pitti, dove nel 2010 avevano vinto la seconda edizione del concorso Who is on next. Quaranta e Incontri, due nuovi talenti del menswear, presenteranno in anteprime le loro collezioni, rispettivamente il 12 e il 13 gennaio.
